Setup / Onboarding - /onboarding
- Intent: The guided post-registration checklist that walks a new adviser's company through paying for its subscription and connecting Stripe (Connect) so it can take payments. It doubles as the return landing page after each Stripe step and keeps itself up to date automatically.
- Who can access it: Every advisor. The sidebar link disappears once both the subscription and Stripe Connect are active, so in practice it's used while setup is still incomplete.
- What you can do:
- Track progress on a four-step tracker: Details → Pay → Connect → Done (Details is always shown complete on arrival).
- The single action shown depends on your current stage:
- Awaiting payment - no button; an on-screen hint explains payment is being confirmed (a card message reassures you it may take a moment).
- Payment failed - Retry checkout button; sends you to a fresh Stripe Checkout page (shows an error toast if no checkout link comes back).
- Awaiting connect - a reassurance panel (existing Stripe accounts can be reused, KYC is required, etc.) plus a Start Stripe onboarding button that hands off to Stripe Express onboarding.
- Connect in progress - Resume onboarding button to return to Stripe and finish.
- Connect restricted - a red alert explaining the account needs attention, plus a Resume button back into Stripe.
- Done - Go to dashboard button →
/dashboard.
- If your account has no company attached, you instead see a notice and a Delete account button (with a confirmation dialog); confirming deletes your account, logs you out, and returns you to
/login.
- What you see: A title with your company name, the step tracker (with a spinner on the active step), and a single card whose heading and body text describe the current stage. A footer line notes the page refreshes on its own.
- States:
- Loading: a plain "loading" line until your company record arrives.
- Auto-refresh: the page polls your company status every few seconds and, on return from Stripe, re-syncs Connect status itself, so it advances without a manual refresh.
- Error: toasts on failed retry/connect attempts ("couldn't get checkout link", etc.); action buttons show a busy label and disable while working.
- Related pages / flow: Landed on after registration, after Stripe subscription Checkout, and after Stripe Connect onboarding; also linked from the dashboard's Billing widget banner. On completion it leads to
/dashboard; the no-company path leads to/login. Once complete, the firm's subscription and payouts are managed from Billing (/billing).
